I am proud to anounce the 4th edition of my german language blender book “Das Blender-Buch”. This time completely full color printed on nice and heavy paper, 418 pages. The price is nearly the same as the old version (0.99 Euro-ct more).
The 4th edition was completely rewritten for Blender 2.5x+ versions, I cover the new Python API, physics based animations (Smoke, Fluid, Particles etc.)
You can have a look at some random chapters at the website of my publisher.
The book is based on version 2.58 of Blender, I recommend all beginners to use exactly this version (or 2.59) for the book first. Later it is then easy to switch to 2.6x versions, some relocated buttons and new functions will not fear you then anymore with the knowledge you gained.
Because I know that many of my readers also follow Blendernation.com I also would like to tell that I installed a Google+ site for my book .
I will use it to post news, informations and error-corrections for my book, so keep in touch and add this page to your circles. Using the comment functions it is also easy for you to give me feedback for this and future editions of my book. I will eventually switch completely to G+ with this, but I keep my Blog updated some more time.

Blender ratings: difference between ability to smoothie and puree?
I'm in the market for a good blender. In reading Consumer Reports, they rated a Kitchen Aid excellent for purees and very good for smoothies. They rated a Braun blender exactly the opposite of the KitchenAid (very good for purees, excellent for smoothies). Isn't the ability to puree or smoothie the
