I'm amazed this blender has no reviews!

I purchased this blender about a year ago from Wal-Mart. I've had a number of blenders over the past 30+ years but always ended up giving them away because I seldom if ever used them -- too much bother -- and have this thing about getting rid of unused stuff but finding yet another excuse why I "need" to buy another blender. I got it strictly for smoothies. My sister convinced me they were good for me, but I wasn't about to pay $3-4 a pop for one smoothie. I was going to do all the research but saw this blender in Wal-Mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time. I thought the spout thingee was neat, but I was really blown away by the 500 watts on this thing. I figured how bad could it be with 500 watts. I'm not a technical person but after comparing the wattage of this one with the others on display, I thought what have I got to lose? If it blew out after recouping the price of 4-5 smoothies, to me it would be a fair tradeoff... 5/5 Pilgrim "ezreader2" - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A great party blender

I bought 2 Wavestations this summer for an annual beach blender party I throw. Armed with a portable generator and tiki bar, I literally mixed over 100 batches of frozen drinks in each unit in just one afternoon (I stopped counting at 100). I have bartended professionally and recreationally for over 20 yrs and I have never run across a commercial blender, let alone a household version that can create fast, consistent smooth blends AND serve them to the last drop from a built in pour tap without ever having to remove the top from the base. Yes, the tap actually works, and works great! I'm buying more just in case some corporate idiot decides to drop the line. Don't let the low price scare you, the Wavestation is really one of those rare items today that actually work as advertised. Enjoy, and remember to party in moderation, or at least give your car keys to somebody how can! :) 5/5 S. Swartz (Montross, VA) - See all my reviews, November 26, 2009

Don't buy this - get a real blender

I bought this for $20 at Wal-Mart, and after using it for a few weeks, I went back and bought an Oster blender for $25 and I am so much happier. With this Hamilton Beach Wave Station, my smoothies had ice chips, which I could ignore, but what really sent me back to the store was that the way the bottom is attached to the blender, you have to take it apart every time you use it because otherwise the smoothie gets down into the threads of the blender at the bottom and then spoils. Disgusting! Just washing out the blender doesn't get the smoothie out of that area. 2/5 Carol Griffith - See all my reviews, September 1, 2009

Nice! Good purchase. Use it a lot!

I read the reviews on this and decided to try it. My other 2 blenders just died ugly deaths and I was reluctant to buy another one. I thought I didn't really need it as I don't use them very often. I started reading about the smoothies people are making and the adult beverages that turned out so well, so I took the bait and purchased it. I'm glad I did. I am making smoothies and milkshakes more often and truly enjoying it.I would have given this item 5 stars but 2 things worried me. First is the noise. I realize that with the speed and power this little machine has it will be noisy. A small price to pay for such a nice machine. Second is the spigot seems flimsy. I'm trying to coddle it so it won't break. It might be stronger than I think, but it just feels weak. When the drink you make is thick you need to turn on the dispense feature, come to fine out the thickness is thinner than expected. It's difficult to pour through the spigot no matter what... 4/5 Linda Mcconnell "OLshopaholic" (Duluth, GA) - See all my reviews, November 30, 2009

    POOR PERFORMANCE

I bought this at WalMart for $18.94. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is true with this model. The spout and the fact that the box showed how easily it would be to make crushed ice drinks and to NOT have to use a spoon to push the items down into the blade was great selling points; however after just two times of making simple milkshakes, I am returning this to the store and getting a kitchen aid, or other more powerful unit. It is very loud and it would only liquify the ice cream (with milk added) with prodding...and a wooden spoon forcing it down. It took way too long. I haven't been able to use the spout as the milkshakes must have been too thick, although my kids had no problem using a staw, so it wasn't that thick.Another drawback is that the cord is way too short. You have to be pretty close to the outlet which was not convenient. A few more inches would have been nice. 2/5 S. GATTSHALL (Ohio) - See all my reviews, July 16, 2008
