    Best yet!

This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. The motor is smooth and powerful - it is the Audi V8 of the hand blender world. For the quality, brand and power, $30 is an absolute steal. 5/5 P. Ah hah, I'm all shook up!

Well ok, maybe I am not all shook up so much as BLENDED up. I purchased this immersion blender after my older no name brand unit purchased at Wally World died in the middle of blending a pot of hot soup. I like that you can wash the blenders blade assembly in the dishwasher and the stainless steel shaft is not stained like so many of the ALL PLASTIC models. Another thing I love is the power of the unit and the sharpness of the blades; they will reduce a pot of cream of broccoli soup to a smooth consistency in nothing flat.Oh and when I say broccoli soup folks, I MEAN broccoli soup. I put nearly two bunches of steamed broccoli in my soup and I only chunk it prior to blending with the immersion blender. This blender will puree` the soup to a perfect creamy texture in nothing flat. (Reserve a few pieces of the chunked broccoli to add back to the soup for texture purposes) I have also used it on my potato and asparagus soups with equally great results. If you are... 5/5 C. Cuisinart makes TERRIBLE hand blenders! They work well, but have an Achilles' heel...

We are now on our SECOND of this CSB-76BC model, having bought two because the price was so good. That was in February, and it's now July. This follows at least three other Cuisinarts, and they all have had the same problem: while the body of the machine may be nice and sturdy, the motor's strong and the blades do the job nicely, the drive shaft is connected with a REALLY CHEAP PLASTIC piece. And this WILL strip, and when it does, you'll be throwing out that otherwise-wonderful machine. The definition of insanity is repeating an action many times, expecting a different result. I readily confess to being insane, in that I keep thinking that maybe the next time, Cuisinart will have decided to salvage whatever's left of their reputation with the addition of one more piece of metal to their immersion-blender design.Don't be like me, please. Cool Kitchen Gadget!!

I purchased this product mainly for making soups. I hated having to put soup into the blender in bathces to puree it. Not only was this time consuming but I usually made a huge mess in the process. Well this product solved that problem for me. I made a soup the other day and used this product to blend the soup right in the pot! While I was nervous about "only" being able to run the blender continuously for 50 seconds, I learned that 50 seconds is more than enough time for this item to blend a whole pot of soup, in fact it only took about 15-20 seconds.I have also used the grinder attachment to mince fresh parsley, and have also made a smoothie using the included measuring cup and blender.Although the manual states that you cannot run this product for more than a certain amount of time (depending on the function), I have learned that this product can accomplish those tasks easily in the time frames given (it took 5 seconds to mince my parsley!)... 5/5 MidwestMom (USA) - See all my reviews, June 19, 2006

    Rubbish!

I would like to give it no stars but that's an option on Amazon rating. Bought in May (but only used about 4 times since then as we were away for a long summer). Used to blend tinned tomatoes. Worked fine couple of times then blades in blender, chopper and whisk turned very slowly and seemed to squeal when motor ran. Called up Cuisinart and they sent me a new kit. Same thing happened. So I called again and they sent me chopper lid and whisk attachment (only blender had worked in new kit). Now I've the handstick that works very well (for how long though?), chopper grinder doesn't work at all and neither does whisk. I looked inside the motor shaft and these "stripped teeth" everyone in the one-star category keeps on about are also looking that way in mine (I hadn't looked in the original one I sent back). Unfortunately I hadn't read the bad reviews before I bought it, and it seems that this "teeth stripping" is a continual problem with most of their hand sticks. I've already spent $20... 1/5 Grainne B. Redmond (MI, USA) - See all my reviews, October 16, 2008

    Excellent Warranty Service

I have had this blender for about a year and have used it weekly for smoothies with great success. Last week I was using it to chop basil and the blade in the chopping bowl sliced into the side of the plastic bowl. Miraculously I kept and located the manual that said it had a 3 year warranty. I called the number, which told me to call another number, I was on hold a very short time. I read the customer service representative my item's serial number and she sent me a new bowl and suggested that she also include a new blade in case my blade had been damaged. Way to go cuisinart. 5/5 eli (boston, ma) - See all my reviews This review is from: Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachments (Kitchen) I have had this blender for about a year and have used it weekly for smoothies with great success. Great versatile tool!

I had a food processor that I hardly ever used because it was big and bulky and a pain to pull it all out and put it all together, use it and then it was a real pain clean it. I mentioned to a friend that I didn't like it and she would love to give it a go so I gave it away but then I needed to replace it. This was my replacement and I absolutely LOVE it. I use it all the time whereas the old processor only got used 3 or 4 times total. I've used the processor attachment and the immersion blender the most. It's easy to use and change out parts and it comes clean in a jiffy. SO glad I made the switch. 5/5 Katherine (GUTHRIE, OK, United States) - See all my reviews, January 3, 2012

    So far, WONDERFUL!

I've never made faster or easier peanut sauce! I couldn't believe how QUICKLY the immersion blender just had it done, and to the perfect puree level! Zippity doo dah! Can hardly wait to see what else I can create with this baby!I just unpacked it out of the box, placed my peanut sauce ingredients in the measuring beaker, connected the immersion stick to the handle, plugged it in, and BAM! It was DONE DONE DONE!Now if it could just clean my house! :^D Seriously, this one is a winner! And the price doesn't break the bank, either!I originally purchased this so I could make my own hummus without salt. That will be next. I don't anticipate any problems, not based on today's peanut sauce, and I used very very thick natural extra crunchy peanut butter in the bottom of the jar, too.....I give this my highest rating! What a deal...............

As usual Amazon done us great. Now as to this Westinghouse hand blender. It's really great, comfortable and very attractive. We love the whisk and the food processor is all one needs. Chops, streads and slices superbly. Easy to operate and load all of the attachments. Loads of power! This replaced a Kitchenaid immersion blender we've had for years. I must say, the Westinghouse has more power and is way better overall, even without the attachments. Now, if it last as long, WOW..... Oh, and for less money than we paid for the Kitchenaid immersion blender alone some 15 years ago. 5/5 B. J. H. - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great idea in theory. Poor execution.

Like many others here, I used my Cuisinart Smart Stick very little before the teeth on the gear in the housing stripped out. I'm guessing I didn't even get to use it 10 times, but since those 10 times were spread out over a period of about 9 months and I had tossed the receipt, I'm out $50.Shame on Cuisinart for making such a powerful little motor and installing plastic gears for it to drive. It'd be a great product if it weren't for this one, seriously fatal flaw. 1/5 Mark A. Rocka (New Caney, Texas United States) - See all my reviews, September 13, 2010

    Wonderful!

I purchased this because I had a Kitchenaid mini-prep and Kitchenaid Stick Blender and had minimum space. I replaced two appliances with one. There isn't a meal I prepare that I don't reach for this and absolutely love it. Have never had any problems with the ease of disengaging the attachments from the handle. I really like the way the chopping bowl does not have a hole in the bottom. 5/5 LAR (Scottsdale, Arizona) - See all my reviews This review is from: Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender With Whisk & Chopper Attachments (HB-154PC) I purchased this because I had a Kitchenaid mini-prep and Kitchenaid Stick Blender and had minimum space. Absoluate piece of junk

If I could give it less than one star, I would.I had an ancient Braun MultiMix that I loved. Worked beautifully for abut 20 years, and finally died a good death. Unfortunately, the Brauns are no longer available domestically. Big bummer, that.I asked a friend for a replacement for my birthday in summer 2009, and due to reviews, specifically asked for a KA model, with the stick blender, chopper attachment and whisk. Unfortunately, I got this pile of junk instead. The stick blender is probably OK. I don't really use that too much, but when I do use it, it does what I want it to. The whisk is meh.....I could live without it. I wanted the mini-chopper/processor option more. But, after about a year of use, it croaked last week. I treated the damn thing with kid gloves. It irked me no end that I couldn't clean the top part (the gear gizzie) really well. Sorry, but most of what I do in my mini-processor is messy....dressings, vinaigrettes,... 1/5 RobertaJ - See all my reviews This review is from: Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender With Whisk & Chopper Attachments (HB-154PC) If I could give it less than one star, I would.I had an ancient Braun MultiMix that I loved. Whatta Blender!

I've gone through maybe 5 hand blenders. They have lasted me 2 years at the most. I burn the motors up with heavy blending, mostly crushing ice cubes to make smoothies. The last one, a 350 watt Oster didn't even make it through a year.I've had this one for about a month, and it shows every sign of going the distance. I haven't been gentle with mine. Its two best features are the 550 watt motor which hardly even gets warm during the heaviest lengthiest chores, and the highly convenient speed control. The changable four bladed cutter is also very nice. Even the mini food processor which I initially took to be a throw-away, has turned out to be well-designed and useful.I recommend that when you first try it out, that you run it on the speed control at a setting of 2. In the highest setting of 5 or Turbo mode, it will tug on your hand so strongly while blending that it may be hard to resist. It is not excessively noisy. Timid people may even find it a... 5/5 Arnold B. Krueger "Arny Krueger" (Grosse Pointe Woods, MI) - See all my reviews, December 19, 2009

I read the reviews before i ordered the wand, not sure if this was a good deal or not. I am glad I took the chance. Most of the goodies in the paperwork are not in English and i think the biggest (possibly only) problem. The clamps breaking when taking off and on the accessories seems the biggest complaint. The main directions on how to take it off and on are not in English nor explained, you see a few arrows with words. I have the steel wand the rest of the parts are heavy duty plastic.I read the problems and took the time to try to understand what could be going wrong with breaking and anything that could result in the problems I read in the reviews posted here. The clamps are plastic but i can't see how metal would make them last longer. The most important part is you must align the arrows and just push down to attach. The top arrow that points down must be in the middle of the bottom arrows pointing towards each other. It easily pushed down and clamps together when... 3/5 Cherlin "Artist" (Bristol, CT United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Works very well

Great so far! I make Hot Pepper sauce every year and needed something with enough power to be able to grind up the pepper skins and make the sauce very smooth. Even my Cuisinart food processor has trouble with this task, plus it would leak hot sauce everywhere. Just got this and tried it on 2 different tasks. 1) I made a blended ice drink that was so thick it wouldn't pour! 2) I used it to grind some of my leftover pepper skins and vinegar. It worked very well but didn't grind up the seeds. Probably asking for too much there. Seems like it really has 550 watts.I was nervous about buying a brand with no reviews, however I checked out their website and they have a 15 month warranty and their other products got good reviews. All the labels on it are in spanish with a small user guide in english. I compared it to the $100 Kitchenaid and I like this one better, especially at only $40. All the components seem well made and are stainless steel. 5/5 Frank - NJ "Frank" (NJ, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Does the job! great price!

Ok .. I could have bought a Kitchenaid for a lot more money, that's the brand all my friends who have these recommended. However, influenced by the price (12 bucks and change) and the reviews of other users, I bought this one. I'm not dissappointed at all! Works great! So far I've used it to make smoothies and puree soups. In no time at all I had a nice smooth consistency for the smoothies and the soups took only a few minutes. Cleans up much easier than my standard blender, not to mention the time saved transferring things into the blender. Also, I like that the guard portion surrounding the blade is not metal, I have a few enameled cast iron pieces of cookware that a metal guard would scratch. You don't always have to pay top dollar to get something that performs well. 5/5 M. A lot of bang for your buck

I can't believe this hand blender is as inexpensive as it is. I've had mine for a year and it works perfectly. I've made cream of carrot soup with it, frostings, pudding, mashed potatoes, salsa and salad dressings. It has worked flawlessly for me. It's easy to use and cleaning it is a snap. 5/5 Kaydee (Tucson, AZ USA) - See all my reviews, December 1, 2004

    Amazing

This little blender works better than my regular blender. I use it to make protien shakes and I like to add some crushed ice. I was afraid it wasn't going to mix the ice and I was going to have chunks like I get with my big blender but this little gadget mixed everything. For the first time I got to enjoy a smooth frosty shake without having to chew it. Very happy with this product. 5/5 T. Hanna - See all my reviews, October 21, 2005

Really nice!!! Much better than my other hand blenders.

I've had several hand blenders-it's a "thing" with me :) I started out with a hand-me-down from my Grandmother and after years of use basically wore it out. I've been looking for a good replacement and ended up trying a Braun and a Cuisinart. For all the power and attachments I still didn't like the Braun. The Cuisinart (Quick Prep) was loud, heavy/bulky and didn't seem to have much power. Here's what I like about this Hamilton Beach one:-Manual says not to use it to blend ice but I do anyway and it does a great job of it-I like the blade housing. The blade sits low so you can blend a tiny amount of anything (with other models you'd have to have a larger amount of food so that the blade can make contact). Also, with the openings around the housing of the blade less food gets stuck to it (when I used my braun half the food I blended ended up on the blender and when you're only doing 1/4 cup of something that's a problem). but it needs to be replaced. I've used this alot for everything from whipping a small amount of egg whites to making my protein shakes, to morning fruit smoothies to making creamed soups.200 watts is enough power to get all of the jobs done quickly and efficiently. However my only "complaint" is that the plastic housing around the metal blade cracked at some point and gathered water. Ive continued to use it even though I think its unsanitary. I am now going to look for an immersion blender that is metal or that is designed so that if it cracks, it cant collect water. 3/5 Maria L. Best I've used so far

This is one of the 3 kitchen appliances I use constantly. #1 is the microwave oven (of course :-), #2 is a Krups toaster oven, and #3 is this hand blender. My previous experience with counter top blenders is they are almost more trouble to clean than they are worth. I was looking for something more convenient to make protein shake smoothies. This fills the need nicely. Quick to use and easy to clean. It whips up previousloy crushed ice from the frig despenser with out a problem. I've been using it 5 times a week for over a year now. My only complaint (why its 4 instead of 5 stars) is that the blade attachement shaft is beginning to slip off where it mates with the motor-handle when under heavier load. Maybe I've abused the thing too much, I don't know. But its still very usable. Like I say, best I've found so far. 4/5 Berry Boy (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hamilton Beach 59770 Turbo-Twister 2-Speed Hand Blender (Kitchen) This is one of the 3 kitchen appliances I use constantly. Great multitool around the kitchen

I started looking for a hand blender after I moved into my apartment. I don't have a mixer, blender, or food processor. I seen a hand blender from a different manufacturer (well known Chef), but it didn't get solid reviews. Being familiar with DeLonghi products and not having too horrible of an experience with them, I decided to go ahead and order this. I'm thinking it's a new model given the lack of reviews out there.Packaging: A very big box. 20"x16"x6" to be exact contains all the parts and pieces. After unpacking, I was left with a few plastic bags and a lot of cardboard that could be recycled. The box Amazon ships it in is even bigger, but I'm guessing that they have standard size boxes. Be sure to read the instructions and remove the plastic guards around all the blades before using them.Hand Blender: Pretty sturdy with a nice rubber grip area. It's easy to select motor speeds and there are 2 push buttons for normal and turbo speed. You have... 4/5 Matt (Fayetteville, NC) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) DeLonghi Handblender

Wonderful Blender, more power than the Cuisinart blender I used daily for 6 to 8 years. The only shortcoming from my point of view is that the power button on the front is configured for only one finger, rather than two or three. With arthritis in my hands it is a bit more difficult for me; if you have normal hand and finger strength I would definitely purchase this brand and model. The blender cup is a wonderful plus since the circumference of the blending mechanism doesn't fit in my beverage container. 4/5 ags - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Love it!

I have been using stick blenders for years and cannot do without one. I ordered this one originally so I could retire my old one to our retreat home. Then, I burned up my old stick blender the day after I ordered this one trying to make date paste out of dates, which I now know to only attempt with my VitaMix. I bought this one because it had a powerful motor and all the attachments to help me reduce kitchen clutter and "unitaskers". I have only used it a couple of times but love it so far. I made some curried apple soup with it the other night and it was so powerful I had to hold it back - the resulting soup was velvety smooth. I intend to use it to make some soap with in the near future. I plan to buy a second one of these for our other home now that I am back to having only one again. My only criticisms, which are not unique to this brand, is that the bowls become cloudy if put in the dishwasher and also care must be taken to avoid getting any water or food in the... 4/5 Bade (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) You get what you pay for.

This thing works, but not well. It does not do a great job of chopping up ingredients (such as nuts and berries). But it mixes okay. I've used better immersion blenders (Braun, for example), but I guess for under ten bucks, you get what you pay for. 3/5 Jackson D. Blend away

This works really really great! I put a lot of use into this blender and honestly have it running longer than I should and it has yet to fail me. I use this for soap making only, so I have not used it for food blending purposes, but it does great at getting the liquid to trace and works well in the thick liquid. 5/5 Mommymel - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent cup for many uses!!

I have been using these cups exclusively for drinking all potable liquids for years and I can't recommend them enough. They clean quickly and reliably since they have a seamless, rounded interior, don't hold odors, are comfortable to use (except with real hot stuff like coffee where they get very hot) and last for years since they are almost bulletproof. They are not totally indestructible though-- 4 original cups and after years of ROUGH use, I lost one the other day, dropping it (for the 50th time) and when it hit the floor on the rim, it deformed enough that the rigid stainless rolled lip split, creating an opening to the interior of the roll which could hold dishwater so I retired it. It could still safely be used to drink from another part of the rim but no problem since they are quite inexpensive. I now use it as an appropriate size scoop for dishing out dogfood to my 2 standard Rat Terriers but I can think of a dozen uses for it in sthe shop or garage.I swear by Amazon... 5/5 D. J. Milk shake cup

This was far less costly than the originals and fits a Hamilton Beach restaurant grade milk shake mixer perfectly. It arrived promptly and without damage. 5/5 Ronald L. Gillum "Ron Gillum, MD" (Norman, OK 73071) - See all my reviews, October 4, 2007

Fantastic item for smoothies, popsicles, and soups

I bought this because I was intrigued by the large size and the thought of not worrying about the smoothie or popsicle mix overflowing as it was being immersion blended. Mission accomplished! This is a fantastic blending cup and then drinking cup. And a 9-ounce can of nuts, the plastic lid (under which is the peel-away metal lid) fits perfectly on this stainless steel container. Also, being that it's a non-reactive material, it's better for blending tomatoes and ginger and other such items as opposed to using anything plastic.Smoothie: 1 cup NF plain yogurt, a splash or two of Naked, 100% Juice smoothie "Mighty Mango," a ripe peach and/or blueberries and/or strawberries. All fresh. Haven't tried frozen yet.Popsicles: see the great Mark Bittman's article [...] I like the creamy ones. Experiment with using less sugar, a teaspoon at a time. And don't cheap out on dollar store popsicle molds. Tovolo popsicle molds are great; find them here in amazon... 5/5 Marge Teilhaber "marge201" (Fort Lee, NJ) - See all my reviews, September 3, 2011
